Critical Environment Protocol
Mississauga houses some of Canada's most vital data and server infrastructure. Standard janitorial crews are a massive threat to these environments. A single sweep with an ungrounded vacuum or a damp mop can generate enough electrostatic discharge (ESD) to fry a multi-million dollar blade server, or introduce conductive dust into the cooling intake.
Sub-Floor Micro-Vacuuming
The raised floors (plenums) in server rooms act as the primary HVAC delivery system. Over time, concrete dust and metallic particulates accumulate here. If disturbed and sucked into a server intake, it causes catastrophic thermal throttling. NorthStar operatives utilize specialized, grounded HEPA vacuums to safely extract particulates from the sub-floor without generating static.
Surface Decontamination
- Raised Floor Tile Care: We utilize specialized, non-ammoniated anti-static dissipative (ESD) floor finishes. These chemicals clean the tile while actively drawing static charge safely to the ground.
- Overhead Raceway Cleaning: Dust accumulation on overhead cable trays is a severe fire hazard. We deploy non-conductive, specialized high-dusters to remove this fuel source.
- Cabinet Wipedowns: Exterior rack cleaning utilizing isopropyl alcohol blends and lint-free, anti-static cloths.
Clearance and Security
Every operative assigned to a Critical Environment team undergoes rigorous federal and provincial background checks. We operate in total silence, strictly following your facility's access control matrices, ensuring zero disruption to live server operations.
